Halcyon Assembly™

Halcyon Assembly™ Plates

Halcyon Assembly™ is a special component installed in the suction line of surge tanks to control the turbulence in a flowing fluid. These units or plates are simple in design and very effectively control the velocity of the fluid thus preventing cavitation in the fluid. They are an a necessary tank and system component for all National Fire Protection Association (NFPA 22) fire tank and fire suppression systems.

Description

Halcyon Assembly™ plates help to decrease the speed of a fast moving fluid and smooth it into a laminar flow instead of a turbulent flow, thus reducing wear and tear. These units also help prevent cavitation (small liquid-free zones such as bubbles or voids) in the fluid. Cavitation can create dents, shock waves and imbalance in the moving parts. Once cavitation affects a surface it tends to erode at an accelerating rate. This makes the surface prone to stress corrosion. Manufactured in stainless steel, galvanized, and PE 100. We can supply the plates and elbows are full units or as individual pieces for your specified project. The Halcyon Assembly™ plate can be manufactured in a single piece plate or multiple pieces for lower shipping costs and also quickly assemble and attach in your existing or new fire water tank. If you would like to add stainless steel screening for your project needs we can also support that fabrication at a low additional cost.
